Maya style cottages, culture and eco-living await you traveling the Maya Route on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Visit Campeche, our waterfront state capital on the Gulf of Mexico, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Our 12-acre orchard and B&B is minutes from the walled heart of this historic city!
ACCOMODATION: We charge a moderate person per night fee, which varies with the seasons. Our basic fee is $30USD. Our cottages are stone, wood and thatch roofed. Our breakfasts are natural delights.

LOCATION: We are 1.5 kms. from the Merida highway entrance to Campeche City, a 15-minute drive from the heart of Campeche City, on the west coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
From Merida, Yucatan, we are 2 hrs distance. From Cancun, Q.R., we are 5 hrs distance.
One can reach Campeche by car, by bus or if coming from Mexico City by airplane.

The idea of a Bed and Breakfast on Tuxan struck me as
one perfect for travelers who come to Campeche, drawn by its off the
beaten path opportunities for culture and ecology.
The Yucatan Peninsula offers many historical and
Natural wonders. On the Caribbean in Quintana Roo State, Tulum, Coba
and the Xian Kan Reserve are much visited. In Yucatan, Chichen Itza, Uxmal,
the Puuc Route and Celestun Reserve are mayor attractions.
Campeche, on the Gulf of Mexico, the Peninsulas West Coast, is little known by most though it boasts more archaeological sites than any other state in the Mexican Republic.
For Nature lovers there are many miles of undeveloped coastline, as well as the Biosphere Reserve of Calakmul, Mexicos largest Natural Reserve (5000 Km Sq of jungle, jaguars, toucans, Maya ruins and more, also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).
Our Region is alluring. First founded by the Maya, Campeche City later became Spains first settlement and port in the region.
In the fishing port of Champoton, where a river by the same name spills into the Gulf, is an archaeological site under excavation. Here Spaniards first battled Maya warriors who won, delaying the invasion some 50 years!
Edzna is another nearby site nestled within medium height jungles. In its hey day home to 35,000 Maya.
There are 19th century ex-haciendas worth a day trip. These reflect the grandeur of European families who accumulated wealth exploiting Campeche's rich natural resources.
Further North is El Tigre, a beautiful site skirted by the lily lined Candelaria River, where legend has it that Cortez may have killed Moctezuma. Beyond, in the State of Chiapas, glorious Palenque... such destinations can be reached by car or bus. Local tour operators offer guided tours.
Tuxan offers accommodation to travelers on such journeys. Those following the Maya Route interested in experiencing an alternative setting where fruit hangs from trees, birds, dragonflies and local people add song and colour to each day.
Here travelers pause for restful inspiration and each day offers opportunity to exchange experiences and explore local treasures.
